This 5 minute meditation is based on the research/science of Kristin Neff*. We talk to ourselves more than we talk to any other human. Sure, it’s all in our minds, but it’s important to pay attention to what we’re saying. Research shows that pausing in moments of stress or hard emotions to speak kindly to ourselves significantly increases our ability to navigate those difficult times. In this meditation, I invite you to focus on three things: Non-judgmental presence with your feelings, acknowledgement of our shared humanity, and deliberate self-kindness or self-compassion. Take this break as often as you need it and see if it doesn’t help build a little more resilience into your life!
